Calling marine science researchers, practitioners and employers!

Save The Date - Research Practitioner Mixer copy

The Edinburgh Marine Network is happy to invite all practitioners and academics working on marine issues to the GESA Environment & Society Practioner Mixer.

We’re looking for keen participants to come to the University of Edinburgh “Environment and Society Research Mixer” and participate in the marine sessions, talking to students about your research and work.

This is a really great event that provides the chance for masters students to interact with academics, employers and stakeholders and explore the possibility of projects and research beyond the School of Geosciences. It provides unique opportunity to exchange research ideas, interests and possible work-based placements with the latest cohort of young, enthusiastic and innovative postgrads. During the five cluster sessions a group of eager MSc students will pitch their dissertation ideas to experts from the field who in turn can provide them with feedback and experience from their own careers. In recent years the event has resulted in successful new collaborations between practitioners and students (and it’s great fun too!). Afterwards there is the opportunity to engage with both students and colleagues in a more informal setting over drinks.

For more information the structure on the event, please download the Information for Guest Practitioners 2015.

If you are interested and could come along for the afternoon or even an hour, please register at the link below, or contact Rachel.Chisholm@ed.ac.uk or Olivia.Eadie@ed.ac.uk if you have any questions.
