Aster de Vries Lentsch is a MSc student in Environmental Sustainability with a particular interest in marine related issues and policies. Her focus is on complex and dynamic policy contexts coupled with economic and commercial drivers. She is currently examining marine planning challenges surrounding wave and tidal energy initiatives around the Pentland Firth and Orkney Waters. Other areas of interest include education and visibility campaigns, eco-tourism, marine litter and fishing impacts. During her undergraduate training as an anthropologist she has worked for several NGO’s and non-profits in the field of social entrepreneurship and sustainability, in different managerial and PR/Marketing capacities. Within the Edinburgh Marine Network her main responsibilities revolve around the maintenance of the website as well as the visibility, branding and expanding of the EMN as a platform.
